Opening Day of People's Museum and Celebration of Prince's birthday June 7
Brass Solidarity is a band founded in 2021 in response to the murder of George Floyd and the ongoing fight in the movement for Black lives. The members of Brass Solidarity come from a variety of musical backgrounds and are united in their dedication to using their talents to promote social justice and bring people together. MISSION: Brass Solidarity is built out of the tradition of resilience and community fortitude through music. Brass Solidarity is a convergence of musicians, activists, and community members using our sound as a voice for justice and an advocate for Black Lives. We were birthed from the movement for Black Liberation in George Floyd Square, meeting weekly as a continuous offering to the community. Our music is by the people and for the people as a passionate campaign to spread love and uplift BIPOC communities. Brass Solidarity seeks to build a repertoire of songs that can contribute to movement spaces, events and actions for Justice in coordination with movement leadership. Our musicians work for justice, not money. Stipends and donations we receive go directly into our work. @brasssolidarity brasssolidarity.com
