Prince came on the scene when I was a teenager and I was blown away by his sound and his style. When I became an assemblage artist, this image of Prince was one of the first pieces I created. His face is so interesting that I knew it would make a striking portrait. And it was so much fun to work on it while listening to Prince's music! My favorite Prince song is Let's Go Crazy!
Sonja Dapper is a St. Paul based mosaic and assemblage artist who transforms found and discarded objects into vibrant new forms. The art is made exclusively from reclaimed elements. She collects these scraps to give them one more shot at being part of something beautiful. Think of it as landfill aversion meets creative obsession.
