Dearly beloved, as we are gathered here today, I hope that we can put aside our differences and enjoy some art! Prince is my mom's favorite artist, but my dad doesn't like him, so whenever I hear a Prince song I can see my dad grumbling and then my mom rolling her eyes and turning the volume up. I hope this painting brings you back to a time when Prince made you dance! The purple, the lighting, and the movement transport me directly into one of his songs.
Allison Claybaugh, originally from Shoreview, Minnesota, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in ceramics from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. Claybaugh dabbles in many different media and processes. She finds inspiration in historical pieces, her work with goats, the great outdoors, and from the people and places she holds dear.
