Facebook post 4/30/16: There is a big, purple, heart-shaped hole in my heart right now. My 37 year journey with Prince has been a marvelous and unforgettable one. Of all my relationships over the course of my life, my RELATEtionship with Prince has been, by far, the most solid, steadfast, and unwavering one. Prince has been the main and only constant in my life over these past four decades. I remember watching Purple Rain the very first day it came to the big screen and watching it ALL day over and over again. I remember getting in trouble for putting the Controversy poster on my ceiling right over my bed. Over the years, I NEVER had a dry spell of not listening to and supporting his music. Everything automatically went on the back burner when Prince was coming to town. The Purple Circles at concerts were the BEST. I will forever cherish the fact that I was blessed with the extremely elusive opportunity to meet and briefly chat with Prince one-on-one, that I had numerous opportunities to dance on stage with him, and that we once sang Kiss in the microphone together. Prince was captivating, selfless, brave, ingenious, animated, charismatic, funny, confident, talented beyond belief, and unafraid to expose the Truth. Rest in Everlasting Peace, My Dear Prince. ~Vicki Perry. September 5, 2016: I just got back from the most MIRACULOUS and SURREAL journey to/in Prince's hometown of Minneapolis. Signs of his presence were everywhere! I walked the same streets as Prince did, stood at some of the same exact spots where he once stood, went to Paisley Park, visited his childhood homes, went inside the church where he was married, and watched the Purple Rain movie playing on a big screen right above the stage that it was filmed on in First Avenue club.

I've been a MAJOR Prince-head for 47 years. I had the pleasure of meeting Prince in person, one-on-one, and I joined him on stage 5 times (one of those times, we sang Kiss in the same microphone together!). My first live concert of his was on the 1999 tour. My all-time favorite Prince song is ADORE. I know Alicia Keys and helped her get deeply influenced by Prince by giving her live shows and bootlegs over the years. After Prince's passing, I had the Kindergarten class I was teaching learn and sing FREE. It was so beautiful!
