In spring 2026, Tammy Ortegon opened the doors of ColorWheel Gallery to the museum. For years Tammy has made Prince-inspired art and welcomed Prince visitors to her vibrant gallery and shop at 319 W 46th Street. The Southside claims Prince as strongly as the Northside: he went to Bryant Junior High and Central High, lived with his Aunt Olivia here for a time, had his first apartment here, and was married at Park Avenue Church.

On April 19, Tammy welcomed us into an afternoon of Prince: coloring pages, story sharing and community, with a special guest, Stephanie Carlson, Prince's school friend, whom Tammy introduced to the museum. Through May and June her walls held the museum's Southside satellite exhibition, No One in the Whole Universe Will Ever Compare. She hosted two Prince coloring parties with the museum: a Prince celebration day at ColorWheel on Saturday, June 6, and Community Day at Roberts Gallery on June 21.

Thank you, Tammy, for your generosity, your color and your love for Prince.
